Reality TV star and rapper Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, popularly known as Laycon, has opened up about a period of deep personal struggle, revealing that he “lost his inner voice” after his victory on Big Brother Naija in 2020. In a recently shared video, the artist explained that it took over a year for him to reconnect with that internal guidance, which only resurfaced in December 2021 following his successful concert, “The Icons Fest.”

Laycon reflected on the overwhelming nature of fame by asking, “Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left was your own thoughts?” He admitted that despite his public success, he felt disconnected until that specific moment in 2021. He shared that once he heard that voice again, it began to challenge him with difficult questions, such as, “Is this really how you want to live? Are you enjoying yourself? What’s next after this?”

These inquiries forced the rapper into a period of deep introspection. He noted that the internal dialogue led to “questions that made me want to sit alone with my thoughts,” which eventually resulted in “a lot of necessary but uncomfortable truths and realisation about myself.” Laycon highlighted that this process was essential for his growth, even if it was difficult to face.

Ultimately, the rapper used his experience to encourage his followers to embrace silence and solitude. He described self-reflection as a vital form of “personal accountability,” urging fans to listen to their own thoughts in order to make necessary life amendments. By sharing his journey, Laycon emphasized that finding one’s path often requires stepping away from the noise of the world.
