Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has dismissed reports alleging that he fathered a child with another woman outside his marriage, threatening legal action against those responsible for circulating the claims.
The singer addressed the allegations in a statement shared on his Instagram story, explaining that he initially decided not to respond to the reports.
However, Jux said he was compelled to break his silence after the allegations continued to spread and escalate.
“Reports have been circulating claiming that I am the father of a certain person’s child. I have been monitoring this matter calmly, without giving it any more weight than it deserves—which is none at all,” the statement, written in Swahili, reads.
“However, since this issue has now escalated and continues to implicate my name, my family, my businesses, and the reputation I have built over many years through hard work and great effort, I felt it necessary to briefly address it.”
The 36-year-old singer said he had previously reached out to the woman involved to understand the basis of the allegation, adding that she confirmed to him that they have no romantic relationship.
Jux stated that the matter has now been referred to legal authorities following the resurgence of the claims. He also urged the media and the public to verify information before sharing it.
“I also urge the media and the public to avoid spreading misleading information without verification,” he added.
“I have built my name, my brand, and my businesses over many years through hard work, discipline, and immense dedication. Therefore, anyone who chooses to link my name, family, or businesses to false claims must be prepared to face legal consequences. For my part, I have chosen calmness, the truth, and appropriate legal steps.”
