The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has lifted the suspension on Adanma Luke, producer of the ill-fated movie in which the late actor Junior Pope was supposed to feature.
Pope died on April 10 after he fell into the River Niger in Asaba, Delta state on his way to a movie location.
The film star was in the company of other crew members when the incident occurred.
AGN would later suspend all movies involving riverine locations and boat riding to ensure the safety of actors and prevent similar incidents from occurring.
Emeka Rollas, the president of the AGN, also warned filmmakers not to work with Luke “until further notice”.
However in a statement on Saturday, AGN national secretary, Abubakar Yakubu, said the suspension placed on the movie producer has been lifted.
The statement added that filming in riverine locations is now allowed.
AGN, however, advised actors and crew members to observe safety measures during filming.
“The National President of the Guild, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, MON, use this opportunity to announce the lifting of the suspension placed on Adanma Luke, producer of the movie ‘Another Side of Life,’ where star actor Junior Pope and four other crew members lost their lives in Anam river,” the statement reads.
“The President also lifted the ban on filming in riverine areas but cautioned members to apply all safety standard measures recommended in the AGN Bylaws.”
