Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has described males a “endangered species.”

He bemoaned the fact that affluent individuals lavish so much money on female performers that it gives the impression that the male actors are not as dedicated.

Kanayo was featured in a recent edition of “The Honest Bunch,” a podcast co-hosted by Deity Cole and Husband Material.

“Many Nigerian rich men patronise our women and give them benefits that make us look like we are not working hard,” he lamented.

“Nigerian rich men, most of them spend money on our girls to the extent that it impoverishes us. You call a girl, she’s your girlfriend, she says she wants to do a production and demand N100 million to N150 million and you give her. But if na me wey be KOK, you’ll say ‘go and work hard, my friend.’

“Let’s look into this issue because have you seen any lady ask for financial help for any medical expenses? It’s only the men. We are an endangered species, that’s what I am saying.”

In a different story, Kanayo O. Kanayo counsels Nigerian parents to inquire about their children’s source of income in order to prevent premature death.
During an event, the actor shared a video of himself talking, which he shared on his own Instagram account.

Kanayo in the video.O. Kanayo spoke directly to the parents in attendance, stressing the importance of closely monitoring their kids’ financial activity. He sent a warning to parents in Nigeria, telling them to be wary of their children’s wealth sources in order to protect them from harm.

“Praise the Lord, my daughter has bought a phone,” said the actor, highlighting a particular situation: “Your daughter, who is twenty years old, does not work and has a phone worth 1.5 million. You are also celebrating her purchase.” She will then scam you out of ₦100,000 or ₦200,000 while you remain silent. Your days are numbered.”
