The National Football League (NFL) has contributed $100,000 to Kai Cenat’s school project in Makoko, Lagos.
Makoko is a densely populated waterfront slum known for its stilted and floating structures in the Lagos.
Following their participation in a charity event in New Orleans, Cenat and fellow content creator IShowSpeed made the donation. The competition took place before to Super Bowl LIX.
The NFL announced a $200,000 payment to the inventors’ foundations, even though IShowSpeed’s squad won 30-29.
The league also praised the content makers for the “amazing work” they do through their foundations in the now-viral video.
“On behalf of the NFL Foundation and the League Inspire Change Campaign, we are happy to present $200,000 in donations,” the announcer said.
“$100,000 for Speed’s foundation benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and Kai Cent’s foundation to support Kai’s school effort in Nigeria.

Cenat, a US online streamer and YouTuber, laid the groundwork for his school in Makoko during his first visit in 2024.
“The process of me building this new school in Nigeria has officially been stamped today. It’s a go go,” he had said.
“So this new school in Makoko is for the kids that are living in Makoko, Nigeria. I have started working on the school.
“And right now if you are in Nigeria and you know the best people that could get the paint job good, get the right equipment they need, and are willing to get their hands dirty for the right amount of money to get paid, let me know.
“They are working very hard right now, removing what got to be removed to get the school ready. I think I will be documenting this and I think am going to make this into a video.”
He also made a preliminary donation of $3,000 towards the school project.
