Nigerian musician Paul Okoye, better known by his stage name Rudeboy, has responded to his detractors by stating that “not all divorces must be toxic.”

Okoye and his ex-wife, Anita Isama, met in 2004 at the University of Abuja.

Their marriage was questioned by the public in 2021 after what was thought to be Anita’s divorce petition appeared online.

An additional court record that surfaced in July 2023 stated that Anita had filed for divorce as a result of supposed infidelity.

In December 2022, the singer revealed Ivy Ifeoma as his new partner.

The musician further disclosed that the pair have been together for one year.

His relationship with Ivy has continued to set tongues wagging on social media, with some users criticising him for ending his eight-year-old marriage.

In a recent post via his Instagram story, the 42-year-old singer slammed critics “looking for who to blame after a failed marriage”.

The ‘Reason with Me’ hitmaker also advised his followers to stop nursing the notion that “all divorces must be toxic”.

Okoye also hinted at possible hashtags for his wedding with Ivy.

“Some of you all wish and think all divorces must be toxic,” he said.

“You are looking for someone to blame so that you all can be entertained. Lol. #Ifeomanonso or #Ifynonso? Choose one.”

Okoye and Anita have three children together.

The singer previously claimed he had been single for four years before unveiling Ifeoma.
