Popular Nigerian rapper Erigga has resorted to social media to express his thoughts on parenting practices and their effects on children.
The “Motivation” crooner, whose real name is Erhiga Agarivbie, admitted he had an increased appreciation for his parents’ tough parenting style.
Erigga admitted in a string of tweets that he was raised to believe that his parents’ strictness was excessive.
But since time has given him more perspective, he now feels that their strategy might have saved the lives of a great number of people in the current generation.
“I used to think our parents were sooo strict, but watching these kids today, I think our parents saved our lives,” Erigga wrote.
He pointed out the significance of traditional, ‘old school’ parenting methods, suggesting that they instill discipline and shape individuals into responsible adults.
