He shared the painful details of his separation, alleging that his wife remarried in the United States while he was still providing financial support and under the impression they were reconciling.
Ekpo explained that the true state of his marriage became clear only after he discovered private messages allegedly written by his wife. According to him, these messages expressed severe dissatisfaction with their life together.

“I don’t even care if he loves me or not because what can love do for me besides stress me? He isn’t taking care of me as a man should. He isn’t satisfying me sexually. He isn’t helping my spiritual life. He isn’t spoiling me. He isn’t anything good… I have been coping with unsatisfying sex for almost three years.”
Struggling to remain composed, Ekpo highlighted several points of contention and heartbreak:
Family Planning: At 48, Ekpo expressed his deep desire for children.
“I’m 48 years old. I don’t have a kid… I started going for sperm tests,” he shared, noting that he believed they were actively trying to start a family.
Financial Support: Despite living apart for six years, Ekpo claims he consistently sent money and gifts to the US. He mentioned sending ₦200,000 from ₦500,000 earnings and even arranging flower deliveries through friends.
A Cold Reunion: When his wife returned to Nigeria in 2025, Ekpo described the homecoming as devastatingly distant. He claimed she refused any physical affection, leading him to sleep in the living room for two days.
Infidelity Suspicions: Ekpo alleged that a male “flatmate” his wife lived with in the US was actually a romantic partner. This was seemingly confirmed for him when he saw a photo of her sitting on another man’s lap.

The 10-year union, which began in November 2015, reportedly ended when news reached Ekpo that his wife had officially remarried in Texas. Overwhelmed by the loss of a decade, he lamented:
