Female American rappers have entered the continuing battle in the hip-hop business, contributing to the tensions amongst their male counterparts.
Nicki Minaj’s protégé Bia appeared to be making fun of Cardi B, her mentor’s adversary, on Dreezy’s remix of “B*tch Duh.”
Bia made fun of an unidentified female artist in her verse for not being able to keep up with the pace, adding that she could never turn on her phone to cry on livestream.
Many saw this as a reference to Cardi B, who made headlines in December 2023 when she sobbed on Instagram Live about her ex-husband Offset’s alleged infidelity.
“How you say you running down and can’t walk on the beat? I ain’t know I had an opp ’cause she don’t say sh*t to me. I could never turn my phone on just to cry, on the live,” Bia raps.
Recall that Cardi B talks candidly about how her career was significantly impacted by her fear of social media reaction.
Cardi spoke up about her challenges, her inner problems, and how she overcame the anxiety that threatened to stifle her creativity and success in an open conversation with Complex 360 with Fast Series.
During the talk, Cardi B—who is well-known for her positive outlook and outspoken manner—showed a more vulnerable side.
Cardi B said that, in spite of her enormous fan base and followers, the constant barrage of unfavourable remarks and abuse on social media has a severe detrimental impact on her, deterring her from pursuing her passion and personal life.
According to her, the pressure to always produce hits and maintain a specific image put her in a state of anxiety.
