Big Brother Naija Lockdown Season 5 winner Olamilekan Agbeleshe, also known as Laycon, has spoken about his years of ‘Sapa’ and the desperate measures it pushed him to take.
The artist related an incident from 2013 in which he was so hungry that he had to soak garri in toilet water.
Laycon revealed that during that challenging weekend, he found himself isolated in his accommodation, grappling with severe hunger and lacking any means to alleviate it.
Having no funds and limited alternatives, Laycon said he turned to utilizing water from the toilet tap at Shodeinde Hostel to soak garri.
He emphasized the intensity of his hunger, stating, “I wasn’t hungry o, I was starving.”
He said: “One of my lowest lows was using Shodeinde Hostel toilet water to soak garri in 2013. I was alone in my wing that weekend, and I was starving. I wasn’t hungry o, I was starving. So I soaked Garri with no sugar and used toilet tap water to drink it… as I Dey soak the garri, water dey commot for my eyes.”
