Singer Joe El, has weighed in on the ongoing dispute between two afrobeats singers Burna Boy and Davido.

Joe El, who has been involved in a number of controversy himself, compared Burna Boy to a younger Eedris Abdulkareem in the most recent episode of the “Real Ish” podcast.

Joe El had concerns on the level of rivalry. In stark contrast to Burna Boy’s portrayal of Davido, he presented a different view of the man, calling him “a loving guy.”

Joe El also countered Burna Boy’s assertion that nobody paved a way for him, emphasizing the sacrifices made by numerous artists to elevate Afrobeats to its current global standing.

He said:

“Burna Boy is the younger version of how Eedris Abdulkareem used to operate before. This Davido and Burna Boy’s beef, I think Burna is taking it too far. Davido is a loving guy.”

Recall singer Jaywon, in a fiery interview with Teju Babyface, lambasted Burna Boy for his audacious claim that he made it to the top without any help.

Jaywon threw shade by reminding Burna Boy of the time Davido handed him a 30BG chain, reteirated that it was a symbolic gesture to motivate him and a significant contribution to his career.

After the interview, internet users swiftly unearthed a throwback video depicting Burna Boy casually hanging out with Davido, adorned with what appeared to be a pendant bearing Davido’s 30BG pendant.

In response, Burna Boy assured to tackle the speculations surrounding his wearing of the 30BG chain, labeling it as what he termed an “audio chain,” along with addressing several other contentious matters.
