The elder sister of Nigerian music star Davido, Sharon Ademefun, has spoken about her close relationship with the singer and her involvement in overseeing his finances and career.
Sharon said she has been involved in Davido’s career since its early days and currently works as the Chief Financial Officer of his record label.
Speaking on an upcoming episode of The Morayo Show, she described their relationship as close but occasionally confrontational, noting that she is comfortable telling Davido things others might be reluctant to say.
“I’ve always taken care of David. He’s always been my baby,” Sharon said, explaining that she has remained part of the singer’s management team since the beginning of his career.
She said their close professional relationship often leads to disagreements, particularly over Davido’s spending habits.
“The problem is that me and David; we are always fighting. The one that other people can’t tell him, me, I’ll tell him,” she said.
Sharon said jewellery and luxury vehicles are among the areas where she regularly challenges Davido over his spending.
She explained that they hold regular financial meetings to review his expenditure, adding that she considers it important for the singer to understand his financial position.
“One of the major things that I’m always getting on my brother is jewelry and cars,” she said.
Sharon added that she has repeatedly advised Davido to reduce his spending on cars.
“If me and him sit down, we always have finance meeting every week because I think it’s important for him to know how his money is being spent. I always say, David, please, no more cars,” she said.
