US Actor Jamie Foxx, Guns N’ Roses’ Axl Rose face sexual assault allegations

US actor, Jamie Foxx, and music band Guns N’ Roses frontman, Axl Rose, were each accused of sexual assault Wednesday. These allegations were part of a series of lawsuits filed in New York just before the statute of limitations deadline.

In the complaint against Rose, actress and model Sheila Kennedy alleges that he “sexually assaulted her” in 1989, emphasizing that she “did not consent and felt overpowered.”

The accuser in the case involving Foxx, identified as Jane Doe, claimed that in 2015, Foxx “intentionally and without consent used force to offensively touch” her by groping her breasts and genitals at a Manhattan rooftop bar.

Both legal filings specify that they are being submitted under the New York Adult Survivors Act, a law that has enabled the pursuit of sexual assault cases that were previously beyond the reach of prosecution due to the passage of time.

The 61-year-old lead singer of the renowned heavy rock band, known for albums like “Appetite for Destruction,” has not made any public comments regarding the allegations. It’s noted that he attended the Las Vegas Formula One Grand Prix over the weekend preceding the filing of the complaint in a New York court.

The purported incident took place in a hotel room in New York following the meeting of the two individuals at a nightclub.

The legal action is urging Rose, known by his real name William Bruce Rose, to undergo a jury trial, with the jury being requested to grant punitive damages to Kennedy.

In the complaint, Rose is alleged to have forced anal sex on Kennedy. Kennedy’s lawyers say she “believed Rose would physically attack her, or worse if she said no or attempted to push him away.”

“Rose used his fame, status, and power as a celebrity and performer in the music industry to gain access to manipulate, control and violently assault Kennedy,” the complaint claims.
The suit says the plaintiff “will permanently be affected by the injuries and emotional distress she incurred as a result of the sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery.”

In addition to acting as a comedian and Grammy-winning singer, Foxx won an Academy Award in 2005 for the Ray Charles musical biopic “Ray.” He was nominated for an Oscar for “Collateral” that same year
