Seasoned musician Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo also known as D’banj surprised Lagos residents with a surprise free concert on a BRT bus.
The well-known musician, best known for the famous song “Oliver Twist,” used an interesting and engaging approach to promote his most recent album, The Entertainer D’Sequel, by taking to the streets of Lagos.
D’banj gave a surprise performance on the same day as the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line celebrated its formal launch.
He started his spontaneous performance at the Leventis bus stop and carried it on to the National Theatre station and the Marina train station.
Passengers enthusiastically greeted the singer throughout the trip. In a touching video, D’banj led a sing-along of one of his new songs while dancing with an old woman.
D’banj took to his social media account and wrote:
“Yesterday was unforgettable! Took rides with the amazing people of Lagos on the BRT Buses and Lagos Blue Line Rail, sharing beautiful moments. Entertaining, chatting, and dancing to my new album The Entertainer: D’ Seque It was such a good day. Coincidentally, it was also exactly one year yesterday since the launch of the Blue Line and the train still looked brand new. Shout out to the LAMATA team. I’m going to do this again soon for sure! Watch out for me. Baby girl tell me what you want. OoooSHEe”
