Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with the murder of the well-known South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, who is more widely recognized as AKA.

According to report, AKA and his friend were fatally shot outside a restaurant in the coastal city of Durban in February 2023.

AKA and his closest friend, Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motshoane, were fatally shot in close proximity by two armed assailants while on their way to their vehicle.

However, in a press briefing on Tuesday night, KwaZulu-Natal’s provincial police commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, provided an update stating that the suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.

A widely circulated internet video features Lieutenant-General Mkhwanazi explaining the arrest of the suspects and detailing their involvement in the rapper’s demise.

“It was clear that AKA was monitored from the airport and Tibz was not the intended target in the murder on Florida Road in Durban.

“We know they were paid for this”, he said.
