Nigerian actress and content creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, has stressed the importance of content creators and celebrities maintaining clear boundaries between their personal and professional lives.
Speaking at The Creative Blueprint 2.0, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori explained that she has drawn a clear line between her personal life and her brand as a comic star.
“I have created a very thick line between what is personal to me as Oluwabukunmi Adeaga Ilori and what is personal to my brand as Kiekie. What are the elements of my brand? Event and TV host, actor, content creator. What is my content? Comic,” she said.
Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori explained that she does not feature her husband, Tunji Ilori, in her content because “he is not funny.”
The actress added that she features her daughter, Nola Ilori, on her social media because “she is made for the camera.”
She, however, clarified that there is a limit to how she features her daughter in her content, stressing that she only creates content with her during academic breaks.
Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori strongly advocated for restraint among content creators, especially when it comes to featuring family members in their content or on social media.
“We overmilk viral moments until it becomes annoying. And that is where oversharing comes in,” she added.
