Nigerian musicians Ahmed Ololade aka Asake and Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman, better known as Oxlade, who were formerly best friends, have recently prompted accusations of separation.

There are numerous YouTube video clips that demonstrate how the two used to be like two peas in a pod. They can be seen freestyling in videos. Online videos also show the two singers meeting in Berlin, Germany, and how thrilled they were to be in each other’s company that they couldn’t stop hugging.

Remember from Oxlade’s previous Rolling Stone interview that he and Asake used to roll together “back then”? Asake was actually one of the first persons to offer him feedback on his song, which went on to become a global success.

xlade said in that interview:

“Back then, myself and Asake used to really roll together. He was like “Yo, the song is going to go crazy. It’s going to go crazy.” I was like, “Ehh, every song, everybody says it’s going to go crazy.”

The statement got many hinging on the fact that the two have become estranged and they weren’t wrong.

Fast forward to a fresh interview with Afrobeats Intelligence, Oxlade finally revealed that he and Asake are in fact no longer best friends.

In Oxlade’s words:

“ Asake used to be my best friend, but…y’know. He’s still my brother o, but…the game is the game.”

Meanwhile, Oxlade for the first time opened up about the damages caused after his sex tape was leaked on the internet.

Two years ago, Oxlade made headlines when his sex tapes leaked into the public domain.

In a latest interview with media personality, Joey Akan, Oxlade disclosed that he lost all his endorsement deals worth N400 million after his sex tape was leaked on social media platforms.

According to him, he was being blackmailed because of the sex tapes so he felt relieved when the tapes were finally released.

Oxlade revealed that the 4 brands canceled him with the excuse that he is bad influence on the youth and children who look up to him.
