The Osun State APC governorship primary election conducted today might be an effort in futility as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not witness the poll.
Indications that the electoral body may shun the exercise first manifested on the eve of the primary as INEC representative(s) not present at the stakeholders meeting convene to unveil the guidelines of the primaries to the aspirants.
When one of the aspirants’ agents confronted Senator Omo-Agege, the acting Chairman of the the party’s electoral body, disclosed that INEC may or may not attend the primary.
He said the party duly notify INEC of the time and venue of the primary poll.
By law, INEC as a body must be notified and supervise a primary election of every political party to confer legitimacy on such exercise.
