FRSC seeks support of traditional rulers on speed limit device

The Sector Commander RS9.4 of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Imo State Command, Mr Joseph Kayode Aremu, has solicited the support of traditional rulers in the state on the enforcing the installation of speed limit devices (SLD) in vehicles plying their communities.

Aremu, who spoke in Owerri on Friday during an advocacy visit to the traditional ruler of Nekede Kingdom, Ede of Nekede, Eze Dr Stephen Kemjika Agumanu IV, said the visit became necessary due to the target to reduce accident rate by 15 percent and fatality rate by 35 per cent in 2018.

The sector commander expressed regret that most drivers in the state were yet to embrace the policy, adding that the reason being that they are yet to be properly sensitised on the benefits of having the device in their vehicles.

Responding, Eze Agumanu promised to pass the message to the Eze-in-Council and invite FRSC officials to be part of their meetings.
