Jimi Agbaje, gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) in Lagos, has reiterated that he will abolish toll paying at the Lekki-Ikoyi bridge if elected into office.

He said this at a town hall meeting organised by the Lekki Residents Association in Lagos, today while answering questions from residents of the area.

He said the toll gate was initially concessioned to a private firm under a PPP partnership. Shortly afterwards, the state government bought back the concession rights to the bridge.

“Paying toll for using the Lekki bridge is like paying rent to yourself after constructing a house by yourself, it need not arise,” Agbaje said.
