Road accidents claim 23 lives in Taraba in six months – FRSC

At least 23 people have died and many others injured in 61 road crashes in Taraba State between January and June 2018.

This is according to the official data obtained from the Taraba State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

Mr. Ben Akunne,  Assistant Corps Commander Operations,  Taraba State Sector Command of the FRSC, said the command was making efforts to establish more units of the corps in Gembu, Bali, and Zing to ensure more impact in their operations.

Akunne noted that the command had intensified education and awareness among road users in churches, mosques, motor parks and other public places on the need to ensure safety while on the road.

On the menace of Tricycle operators popularly called KEKE NAPEP in Jalingo the State capital, Akunne said the State government had set up a task force to contain the excesses of the operators.
