Smugglers attack customs, abduct officer in Ogun

There was pandemonium on Saturday as some criminals and economic saboteurs ambushed and attacked officials of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Ogun State Command in Papalanto area of the state.

They succeeded in abducting and inflicting life threatening injury to an Inspector, Abdullahi Mohammad Kuso attached to the Ogun State Command.

They further set ablaze Customs patrol base at Papalanto, close to Lafarge Cement Company. However, the abducted inspector was later rescued by officers of the Command.

Spokesman of the command, Abdullahi Maiwada revealed this in an exclusive interview with Newsclickng.com on Saturday.

According to him, full scale investigation is ongoing to fish out those who perpetuated this barbaric, cruel and inhumane aggression.

Maiwada however assured the general public that the Ogun State Command will not relent in bringing to book economic saboteurs and criminals who often violently engage officers at various approved duty post, to the extent of inflicting injuries on officers, destroying government properties, and constituting nuisance to the society.
