Yuletide : Honeywell partners FRSC on safety awareness

Honeywell Flour Mills Plc in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps has rolled out safety campaign aimed at reducing accidents on roads as the Yuletide approaches.

According to a statement by Honeywell, officials of both organisations, commenced the road safety campaign at Owena Motor Park, Ojota, Lagos where drivers were enlightened on safe driving culture, especially on the need to drive safely into the New Year.

The Managing Director, Honeywell Flour Mills Plc, Mr Lanre Jaiyeola, said the initiative, tagged ‘Safe driving, safe arrival’ was designed to create awareness among road users during the festive period.

Jaiyeola, who was represented by the Head, Innovation and Corporate Communication, Mr Lanre Da-Silva said, “We always partner FRSC to ensure that people are safe at all times especially during the Yuletide, to observe all the safety procedures required at this time.”

The Unit Commander, FRSC, Ojota, Mr Innocent Etuk, said the corps had put in place measures that would reduce the rate of crashes on the roads as well as improved response time.

“At every 50 km on the road, there will be patrol vans with full complement of medical team that will ensure that our men get to any accident site and rescue the situation in less than five minutes,” he said.

He advised motorists to avoid vices such as drunk driving, speeding and disregard for general safety rules, adding that the FRSC would start total clampdown on errant drivers starting from December 1.
