NAFDAC seizes N50m worth Of fake drugs in Lagos raid

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated illegal drugs having a street value of around N50 million.

These substances were confiscated during a recent targeted search by NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement Directorate on drug hawkers in Apapa and nearby areas.

The Agency, which announced the raid in a statement on Friday, said it is part of its continuous efforts to prevent the distribution and sale of illegal medications.

According to the report, multiple hawkers were caught during the operation, and a variety of illicit drugs, including aphrodisiacs, narcotic compounds (including tramadol), antibiotics, and over-the-counter medications, were confiscated.

The Agency said that the individuals arrested will be prosecuted accordingly, and the confiscated drugs are slated for destruction.
