Newly elected member from Kwara State, Tijani Kayode Ismail, has put forward the name of Ahmed Wase, the outgoing Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, as a candidate for the position of Speaker in the 10th National Assembly.
This nomination was supported by Ali Muhammed from Nasarawa State. Wase graciously accepted the nomination.
Wase, being one of the speakership aspirants, is among those who are dissatisfied with the leadership zoning arrangement proposed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming Assembly.
This plan favors Tajudeen Abbas over other contenders, leading to grievances among some aspirants, including Wase.
