12 new House of Representatives members take oaths of office

Twelve newly elected representatives from different federal constituencies have sworn their oath of office and allegiance in the House of Representatives.

This follows their success in the parliamentary re-run elections held last Saturday.

While a total of 15 candidates emerged victorious in the polls, twelve of them participated in the swearing-in ceremony held during a session chaired by the House Speaker, Abbas Tajudeen.

Out of the 15 winners, seven belong to the All Progressives Congress, five to the Peoples Democratic Party, three to the Young Progressives Party, and one to the Labour Party.

Accompanied by their family members, friends, and political associates, the new legislators arrived at the National Assembly Complex for the event.

They include Umar Garba (representing Ngaski/Shanta/Yauri Federal Constituency, Kebbi State, under the APC), Ifeoluwa Ehindero (representing Akoko North East/North West in Ondo State, also under the APC), Faud Laguna (representing Surulere 1 Federal Constituency in Lagos State, under the APC), Saleh Zock (representing Kachia/Kangaroo Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, under the APC), Rabiu Kamba (representing Arewa/Dandi Federal Constituency in Kebbi State, under the APC), Emil Inyang (representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency in Cross River State, under the APC), and Yusuf Tafoki (representing Faskari/Kankara/Sabuwa in Katsina State, under the APC).

Among the others are Adamu Yakubu (representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Federal Constituency in Jigawa State under the PDP), Yusuf Yabo (representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency in Sokoto State under the PDP), Husseini Jallo (representing Igabi Federal Constituency in Kaduna State under the PDP), and Mohammed Jajere (representing Fune/Fune Federal Constituency in Yobe State under the PDP).

Additionally, there are Daniel Ago (representing Jos North/Bases federal constituency in Plateau State under the LP), Emma Udo (representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State under the YPP), Peter Uzokwe (representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South Federal Constituency in Anambra State under the YPP), and Chinwe Nnabuife (representing Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency in Anambra State under the YPP).
