Olufemi Ajadi, the New Nigeria People’s Party candidate for governor in Ogun State, has pledged to reform state government if chosen in next year’s general election.

A statement on Monday said that he made the vow on Saturday when visiting his Ilaro.
Oguntoyinbo, who was greeted by a sizable crowd of locals, specifically pledged to the electorate that, if elected as the next governor, their welfare would improve.

He praised the large number of Ogun citizens who attended the event and welcomed him from all 20 local governments of the state, saying it was time for the populace to experience the true benefits of democracy.

“Insecurity; power failure; bad roads and unemployment are the first targets to be tackled before dealing with other challenges one after the other,” he said.

He asked the populace to participate by casting a large number of votes for the NNPP in the next elections.

Oginni Sunday, the state party chairman, also spoke during the event and claimed that the current governor, Dapo Abiodun, had broken pledges made to the public by his party.

He continued by saying that Oguntoyinbo would keep his word in keeping with his custom of promising and doing. He claimed that the NNPP candidate for governor has a history of humanitarianism and would not let the people of Ogun down.

“He has done different empowerment programmes for the youths in Ogun State and also helped some poor students in paying their tuition fees. We are confident that Ajadi will deliver”, he added.

The Southwest Zonal Secretary and Director General of the Ajadi campaign, Tunde Oke, also spoke. He said that the PDP had failed the Ogun people before the APC came to power, and he emphasized that the electorate could only overcome the current difficulties by voting for NNPP.

“If we want the positive change to reflect in Ogun State, we should not hesitate to embrace the candidature of Olufemi Ajadi,” he said.

The presence of other Ogun State residents, particularly the women, was acknowledged by Ajadi’s mother, who attended the celebration with a few other relatives.

The Iyalode of Ilaro, the senior Oguntoyinbo Ojenike, pleaded with all Ogun electorates to support his son in the general election of 2023 by casting a large number of ballots.

She claimed that her son has always put the welfare of others first and would work to make life better for the people of Ogun.
