Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term, saying it would allow him to continue the “good work he is doing”.

He stressed that the President should be allowed to keep implementing his “bold, daring and ambitious vision” aimed at driving inclusive and sustainable national development.

Fubara made the appeal on Thursday while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

He described Tinubu as a “dedicated and highly patriotic” leader who deserves another term, adding that Nigerians can be confident that the country is in safe hands under his leadership.

The governor highlighted what he called the achievements of the current administration over the past three years, expressing optimism that more progress would be recorded under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

He said, “If Tinubu is re-elected in 2027, we are all witnesses to the transformation of our battered economy and the ongoing infrastructural revolution, including the remarkable coastal road project in the southern and other parts of the country in just three years.

“Although challenges remain in certain regions, we all trust in Mr President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and dedication to safeguarding our nation, transforming the economy and delivering equitable development to all regions.

“In football, the saying goes that no coach changes a winning team. Therefore, Nigerians have no choice but to support President Tinubu at this crucial time and work together to re-elect him in 2027 to continue implementing his bold, daring and ambitious vision for the inclusive and sustainable development of our nation,” he said.

Welcoming the traditional rulers, Fubara said their presence showed that Rivers State remains peaceful and capable of hosting important national gatherings, while also reflecting unity across Southern Nigeria.

He noted that despite cultural and ethnic differences, Nigerians remain committed to national unity and shared progress.

He also emphasised the importance of cooperation between the regions and the Federal Government in achieving faster development and improving living conditions.

Fubara praised traditional rulers for their influence at the grassroots level, describing them as vital links between the people and government.

He encouraged them to continue promoting peace, cultural values, and development, while actively contributing to discussions that would advance security and progress in the region and the country.

The meeting brought together traditional rulers from the South-South, South-East, and South-West, with discussions focused on strengthening unity, peace, and development across Southern Nigeria.
