Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has praised BudgIT Nigeria’s recently published Third Quarter 2025 Fiscal Transparency Report, calling it a strong endorsement of his administration’s dedication to transparency and accountability in governance.

In a statement released by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, and reports online on Friday, the report placed Osun among just 11 states nationwide to achieve a perfect 100% score, marking the state’s best performance in over a decade.

Describing the ranking as “a fantastic New Year gift for the people of Osun State,” Adeleke said it reflects his government’s commitment to due process and open governance.

“We operate a transparent administration guided by due process, and our budgetary procedures continue to earn recognition across sectors,” he added.

The governor emphasized that the report evaluates states based on the availability, timeliness, and completeness of public finance documents, the functionality of e-procurement systems, and the accessibility of fiscal data. He noted that Osun’s top ranking counters opposition criticisms and highlights strong management over the past three years.

Adeleke also highlighted other accomplishments, stating: “Our state leads in primary health care access in the South-West, improved from 33rd to 7th in national exam rankings, reduced debt by over 40%, and significantly addressed infrastructure deficits.”

Supporting this, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Prof. Moruf Adeleke, said the perfect score shows that the state’s governance is transparent, with prompt budget execution and open procurement processes.

“This demonstrates a government committed to transparency. We are grateful to the governor for empowering our team to manage fiscal processes according to national and global best practices,” he said.
