Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reaffirmed his commitment to driving progress and reclaiming lost ground, emphasizing his determination to fulfill the mandate given to him by the people.
He made the statement on Friday while swearing in five new special advisers at the Government House in Port Harcourt: Eloka Tasie-Amadi, Professor Peter Medee, Emmanuel Frank Fubara, Victor Ekaro, and Darlington Orji.
The governor urged the appointees to work collaboratively and stay committed to his administration’s vision of people-centered governance. He described the appointments as a means to strengthen teamwork and ensure smooth functioning of the state government.
“These individuals are not new faces. They’ve worked with us before, understand our philosophy, and will help achieve our goals,” Fubara said.
He stressed that governance requires collective effort, discipline, and accountability, warning the advisers against complacency. “This is not about pleasure, it’s about work. You have proven yourselves before, and I expect the same commitment now,” he added.
Fubara noted that the appointments provide an opportunity for meaningful contribution to service delivery, stating, “Don’t let us down. Our social agreement with Rivers people is to work, and that is what we will do.”
The new appointments come a day after a minor cabinet reshuffle, which saw Commissioner for Sports Barr. Christopher Green redeployed as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
