Governor Dikko Radda has been confirmed as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Katsina State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The affirmation took place on Thursday at the People’s Square in Katsina.
Yakubu Maccido, chairman of the APC Electoral Committee from the party’s national headquarters, who oversaw the process, stated that the governor received endorsement through a voice vote by delegates and party supporters.
“The affirmation followed a unanimous agreement among stakeholders in the state,” Maccido said.
He noted that the decision demonstrated the shared commitment of party members to preserve unity and reinforce the party ahead of the next general elections.
He also explained that the exercise was peaceful and conducted according to the party’s guidelines.
“While some states experienced tension during the process, Katsina distinguished itself through unity, discipline and effective leadership under Governor Radda,” he said.
The affirmation further consolidates Radda’s standing within the party as preparations continue for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
