The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 279 results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that were earlier withheld over suspected examination malpractice.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, said the decision followed ongoing investigations into cases recorded at some examination centres.
“While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates,” the statement reads.
Benjamin explained that results from centres flagged by JAMB’s live monitoring team, or those linked to suspicious activities and adverse reports, are still being withheld pending further review.
He added that any candidate found culpable after investigations would have their results cancelled.
The board also advised affected candidates to recheck their result status through the same phone number used during registration.
JAMB had earlier released 1.26 million UTME results for the April 17 and 18 examinations, in addition to 632,752 results for the April 16 sitting.
The board also released results for the April 20 exam session, though it did not disclose the total number of candidates involved.
