ASUU strike: NLC protests in Ogun

248

In support of the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ strike, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress are demonstrating in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State.

The NLC might use the protest that is now taking place to alert the government to other problems that the country is facing.

On Tuesday, the demonstrators held posters that read, among other things, “Governor Dapo Abiodun, increase subvention of Tai Solarin University of Education.”

The demonstrators are currently marching towards the government secretariat in Oke Mosan after leaving the NLC Secretariat at Leme and traveling through the well-known Kuto market.

Since the union stopped operations on February 14, 2022, the ASUU strike has been going on for five months, leaving millions of students uncertain about when classes will resume.

Therefore, the NLC had instructed its members to stage a two-day protest against the strike today and tomorrow (Wednesday) last week.
