Bandits on Wednesday killed five persons in Ayilamo, a village in Logo Local Government of Benue.
The Police Command spokesperson in the north-central state, Mr Sewuese Anene, said that the attack took place on Tuesday night.
“A few others sustained injuries,” Anene added.

She reported that an additional assault took place in the Mbachohon community within Gwer-West Local Government, though she mentioned that specific information regarding that incident was lacking.
Unverified accounts suggested that six individuals lost their lives in the Mbachohon attack.
“The attacks are unfortunate; more security men are being deployed to the areas to restore peace,” Anene told the News Agency of Nigeria
