The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on Nigerians to remain patient with President Bola Tinubu’s administration as it implements economic reforms that have caused widespread discomfort.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, to mark this year’s Christmas celebration, Ganduje acknowledged the hardships resulting from key policies announced by Tinubu upon assuming office in 2023, including the removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate.
These measures have driven inflation to unprecedented levels, leaving many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet.
Despite the challenges, the former Kano State governor urged Nigerians to exercise patience, noting that the positive outcomes of these reforms are already becoming evident.
He expressed optimism that by next year’s Christmas, the economy would have significantly stabilized.
Ganduje highlighted the government’s progress in improving national security, pointing out a notable reduction in cases of banditry and kidnapping.
He reassured Nigerians of the APC’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth, security, and enhanced welfare for all citizens as the nation navigates its developmental challenges.
The National Chairman also encouraged Nigerians to use the festive season to pray for peace, stability, and prosperity in the country, as well as the success of leaders at all levels of government.
Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity, mutual respect, and selflessness among citizens, calling on everyone to extend generosity and care to the less privileged during this season of giving.
