Governors from the South-West states are set to meet in Ibadan for an urgent, unscheduled session to discuss critical regional issues, with a focus on security challenges across the zone.

The closed-door meeting, scheduled to take place at the Governor’s Office, Agodi, is being hosted by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

All six governors from Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti are expected to participate.

While specifics are still limited, sources revealed that the sudden gathering aims to tackle escalating security threats, accelerate infrastructural development, and bolster regional integration under the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN).

The governors are also set to review joint security efforts, including the operations of the Amotekun Corps, with the goal of enhancing its effectiveness in light of emerging challenges.
