On Wednesday, a fire gutted a tanker at a petrol station in Idi Oro, Lagos’ Mushin neighborhood.
The situation is being handled to by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
Mrs. Adeseye Margaret, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said in a statement that the fire alert was received at 13:17 hrs.
“The Agency mobilized other state emergency responders to put up concentrated efforts in combating the inferno,” she said.
“Preliminary investigation found that the fire is caused by a 33,000-ton tanker that is fully laden with Premium Motor Spirit, also known as Petrol.
“Although the cause of the disaster is yet to be ascertained, Officials of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service remain on top of the situation and will provide necessary updates as situation demands.
“Motorists are advised to seek alternative route away from the Idi Oro Corridor of Agege Motor Road, Mushin.”
