“Thank you, Nigeria. Thank you, Ghana. Thank you, Africa,” she wrote.

TROJ premiered on July 10, 2026, at the Monarch Event Centre in Lekki, Lagos. The movie was produced by Bukky Wright and directed by Adeoluwa Owu, serving as a sequel to the 2008 Yoruba classic, Omotara Johnson.

The sequel follows the story of Omotara, who has left behind her criminal past to embrace motherhood but is forced to confront old challenges after her son is accused of murder and former enemies resurface.

The film features notable actors including Bukky Wright, Ojay Wright, Janet Adebayo, Tolulope Asanu, Shaffy Bello and Timini Egbuson, among others.

Before the movie’s release, Wright described TROJ as her biggest production yet, revealing that its post-production was completed in the United Kingdom. She also released the original Omotara Johnson on her YouTube channel to help viewers reconnect with the story ahead of the sequel’s debut.
