After reported unrest involving alleged agitators of the Yoruba Nation early on Monday, normalcy has apparently been restored in the Lagos State neighborhood of Ojota.

Social media videos purport to show an unnamed individual being slain during the violence as protesters and police allegedly battled where the protesters gathered.

According to reports from the scene of the event, things were back to normal, with people driving and doing business as usual.

Armed police officers and vehicles were also seen near the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota

Jubril Gawat, an aide to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, provided an update on the issue and said everything was peaceful at Ojota.

He wrote, “UPDATE: Ojota is calm. OP-MESA and other Police Divisions are fully on ground. People are going about their normal duties, all clear.”
