Proceedings in the alleged corruption case involving former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have been postponed until Wednesday, April 1, 2206.

El-Rufai appeared before the Federal High Court in Kaduna State on Tuesday.

At the hearing, defence counsel, Ukpon Akpan, initially filed an application requesting that the presiding judge, Rilwan Aikawa, step aside from the case, citing alleged bias and a pending petition.

The defence, however, later moved to withdraw the same application.

The court was unable to continue with the scheduled bail hearing, as the prosecution had only just submitted its counter-affidavit opposing the bail request.

Justice Aikawa subsequently adjourned the matter to Wednesday for the hearing of the bail application.

A separate case brought by the ICPC at the Kaduna State High Court has also been adjourned until April 10 for further proceedings.
