The former member of the National Assembly representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Shina Abiola Peller, has taken the initiative to distribute more than 2,000 rams to Muslims in his constituency and throughout the Oyo North Senatorial District.
This gesture aims to ensure a meaningful and fulfilling celebration of Eid-el-Kabir this year.
Peller personally oversaw the distribution of the rams, along with bags of rice and other essential items, in Iseyin, located within the Iseyin Local Government Area of the state.
He urged the recipients to foster peaceful and harmonious coexistence with one another.
He said, “Over 2000 families benefited from this humanitarian gesture. This is to enable them to have a fun-filled Salah celebration with their family members, close associates and friends. And you know, distribution of rams, bags of rice and other items to people during Sallah celebration has always been my usual act, even long before I joined politics.”
Shina Peller emphasized that irrespective of holding a public office or not, he is committed to consistently reaching out to the people, especially those in need, during festive occasions such as Eid ul Fitri, Eid al-Adha, Easter, Christmas, and New Year’s celebrations.
In light of this, he extended warm wishes for a joyous Salah celebration and encouraged everyone to prioritize peace in their lives.
“This is wishing my Muslim brothers and sisters a fun-filled 2023 Eid al-Adha celebration filled with love, happiness, joy, affluence and sound health. Today is so pious to us all as Muslims and we must make it count by seeking God’s mercy and forgiveness for our shortcomings and praying fervently for peace to reign in our country.
“Since Islam, which we practise, means peace, it is very important that we make peace our watchword, we should think peace, preach peace always and religious tolerance. Importantly, as we wine and dine during this festive period, we should remember to reach out to our fellow Muslims in whatever way we can, particularly the needy,” he added.
