Frank Nweke Jr, the candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Enugu State governorship election held on March 18, has decided to withdraw his petition against Governor Peter Mbah, who belongs to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
During the Enugu State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Frank Nweke Jr, who secured the third position in the governorship election with 17,983 votes, decided to withdraw his petition against Governor Peter Mbah, who received 160,895 votes.
Nweke Jr’s lawyer, R.A.C.E Achara, made an oral application for the withdrawal on Sunday, stating that it was necessary to alleviate the tribunal’s workload.
Consequently, the tribunal granted the withdrawal and dismissed the petition.
Nweke Jr, a former minister in the administration of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, confirmed the withdrawal and cited personal reasons for his decision to retract the petition against Mbah.
