Ex-Anambra Governor Chukwuemeka Ezeife is dead, Tinubu mourns

President Bola Tinubu has expressed condolences to the Ezeife family, the people, and the government of Anambra State following the death of former governor Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife.

Ezeife, the governor of Anambra from 1992 to 1993, died on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Federal Medical Centre in Abuja, according to a family statement.

Tinubu praised the former federal permanent secretary’s towering influence in Nigeria’s political scene as well as his leadership qualifications in a press release issued by the President’s spokeswoman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday, calling his death as a devastating loss.

The President recalled the contributions the late Chief Ezeife made in the shaping of public discourse and governance in Nigeria, as well as in laying the foundation for the advancement of his dear state.

While praying for the repose of the soul of the dearly departed, the President encouraged his loved ones to take solace in his indelible legacy.
