FG declares Easter public holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024 as public holidays to commemorate this year’s Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations, respectively.

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, made this announcement on behalf of the federal government on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

He urged Christians to imbibe these values because they have the potential to favourably impact Nigeria’s socioeconomic development by building unity, eliminating conflicts, and encouraging Nigerians to cooperate.

He also urged Nigerians to demonstrate acts of kindness and generosity to assist improve the material conditions of the less fortunate among them.

This, he added, is consistent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

While wishing Christians at home and abroad a joyous Easter holiday, the Minister also urged Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s administration in its efforts to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for everyone.
