The Kano State Fire Service has verified the fire incident that engulfed 17 offices at the Gwale Local Government Secretariat early on Wednesday.
The Public Relations Officer of the service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, affirmed the occurrence to newsmen in Kano.
Abdullahi stated that the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
”We received a distress call at about 03:43 a.m. from Abdullahi Hassan that there was a fire outbreak at Gwale Secretariat.”
“Upon receiving the information, we quickly sent a fire vehicle to the scene at about 03:46 a.m to bring the fire under control,’’ he said.
Abdullahi mentioned that the ground floor, comprising offices and others with dimensions of about 300 x 200 feet, totaling 17, was entirely consumed by the fire.
Additionally, he noted that a 406 Peugeot, a Haice bus, and a station wagon ambulance suffered minor damage.
He also stated that the service is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
