‘Glorious Moment,’ Spain moves to FIFA Women’s World Cup final

After Sweden is denied by an Olga Carmona super goal, Spain advances to the FIFA Women’s World Cup final.

Spain advanced to their first FIFA Women’s World Cup final thanks to an exciting victory in a semifinal that erupted in the closing seconds.
The game was deadlocked at 0-0 and extra time appeared more inevitable when teenage super-sub Salma Paralluelo scored what appeared to be the game-winning goal in the 81st minute. The lone goal for Sweden was scored by Rebecka Blomquist in the 88th minute, while Ola Carmona’s goal allowed Spain go through the women’s world cup final in the 89th minute.
