Gov Ahmed Ododo visits President Tinubu over security

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Ododo on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to discuss the security situation in the state.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser, Ismaila Isah, the governor briefed President Tinubu on the security situation in Kogi State during the visit. He highlighted efforts by his administration to consistently enhance the security architecture, aiming to improve the protection of lives and property across the state.

Additionally, the governor praised President Tinubu for his swift intervention to address food security challenges in the country. He informed the president about the positive feedback received from the people of Kogi State following the distribution of food palliatives last month. The governor assured that this distribution would be an ongoing initiative throughout the year, with long-term benefits for agricultural production in the state.

Governor Ododo reiterated his commitment to ensuring food security in the state through initiatives such as clearing hectares of land, providing subsidies for farmers, and enhancing processing facilities and market access.

Furthermore, the governor commended President Tinubu for the Federal Ministry of Works’ dedication to completing federal road projects in Kogi State in a timely manner. He highlighted the progress being made on the Abuja-Lokoja-Benin road, reflecting the federal government’s determination to complete the project within the specified timeframe under President Tinubu’s leadership.

In response, President Tinubu praised Governor Ododo for his commendable performance since assuming office as the Governor of Kogi State. He assured the governor of his continuous support in his endeavors to transform the state.
