Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has officially sworn in five new commissioners and two special advisers at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
In his address to the newly appointed officials on Wednesday, Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of not reacting to provocations from his political opponents.
He stated that such provocations are intended to distract his administration from its goals, urging the officials to remain focused and committed to the administration’s objectives.
Governor Fubara highlighted that these appointments are designed to enhance the cabinet’s ability to fulfill its promises to the people of Rivers State. He noted that public interest lies in tangible results rather than the number of court rulings or street protests.
The Governor expressed his gratitude for the appointees’ dedication, particularly their commitment to upholding truth and justice within their communities.
The new commissioners, who were screened and confirmed by the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Victor Oko-Jumbo on Tuesday, include Samuel Anya, Ilamu Arugu, Rowland Obed-Whyte, Samuel Eyiba, and Austin Emeka Nnadozie.
Samuel Anya, from Abia State, previously served as the Governor’s adviser on non-indigenes in Rivers State and has been tasked with fostering unity among residents from various regions.
The Special Advisers are Achor Nna, a former Councillor and Leader of Obio/Akpor Legislative Assembly who resigned in March, and Forgiven Amachree, a former member of the All Progressives Congress.
