Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has authorized the payment of a 13th-month “Eno-mber” salary bonus to state employees ahead of the Christmas festivities.

The announcement was made by the governor on his social media platforms on Monday.

Having instructed the state Accountant General to release the bonus, Eno expressed hope that the early payment would allow workers to enjoy the holiday season comfortably.

He stated, “I have directed the Accountant General to pay the 13th-month Eno-mber salary before Christmas, so our workers can celebrate with ease. Happy New Month.”

A 13th-month salary is an extra payment, typically equivalent to one month’s regular salary, given in addition to the annual pay. It is commonly provided at the end of the year to support holiday and festive expenses.

This year’s bonus marks the third year in a row that Eno has announced the payment.

In December 2024, the governor also declared the payment of the ₦80,000 minimum wage to all public servants.
