Gunmen believed to be bandits have kidnapped a photojournalist in the Danhonu II community of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The victim, Umar Iyale, a photojournalist who is reportedly battling an undisclosed illness, was taken from his home on Monday night at about 9 pm.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the command has commenced operations to track down the bandits and secure the release of the abducted journalist.
He urged residents of Danhonu and Millennium City to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could assist the ongoing rescue efforts.
The incident occurred despite nearly two years of relative calm and improved security in Kaduna State, attributed to the state government’s coordinated and strategic partnership with security agencies to enhance safety across various communities.
